Today, April 25th, is World Penguin Day!
Now before you write this off as just another reason to have to buy someone chocolate, you should know that it (not so coincidentally) coincides with the annual northward migration of the Adelie penguins. These penguins, perhaps better known to you as the strangely Hispanic penguins from Happy Feet, leave Antarctica for the winter months. During this time, they catch fish and play on the ice burgs and float around and avoid orca whales. This is not unlike rumspringa in the Amish communities, as I understand it. I also don’t claim to understand rumspringa that well.
In honor of World Penguin Day, why don’t you waddle over to the zoo!
